In the tropical climate of San Pedro, Belize I was contracted to capture the essence of island and resort life for Mahogany Bay Village. Owned by the Hilton, it was a challenge of displaying its upscale real estate while capitalizing on its exhilarating amenities. Showcasing the minimalist details in each of the cottages available advanced my attention to detail and appreciation for ‘the little things’.
Three words: Travel by boat…
Arguably one of my favorite shoots was the breezy beach club. Only accessible by boat yet not absent in its accommodations; from the lively sandy courts of volleyball to the restful hammock nets hovering the cool salty water. Capturing the moments of a jet ski across the glass like ocean surface while appreciating the beauty in a piña colada. Local cuisine embodies its own colorful yet flavorsome plates available.
Bringing the coast back with you.
‘Free Town’ cottage is the ultimate representation of coastal themed interior design. Unique woven chairs and braided neutral carpets denotes a level of comfort while presenting emerald shutters complimenting its cool tones.
Sunny days and high exposure.
It is easy to edit when you’re having fun. The poolside service was unmatched with frozen fruity drinks at your fingertips and cabanas casting an afternoon shadow. Traditional resort style pool showcases the details of the wood deck, large palm trees, and giant umbrellas.
Quaint. Cozy. Inviting.
The garden cottage enclosed in greenery and floral plants is the luxury you didn’t know you needed. Featuring dark shutters to contrast its airy feel.
The best days start with coffee.. or at least mine do!
Rum & Bean was the life saver of my long but satisfying work days. A mocha flavored coffee was a fulfilling reward to my invested time.
Another great edition was the chocolate shop selling its in house desserts. Classes also available to learn how to mold chocolate on the cold marble top surface.
“Lower and upper keeping suites”.
The suites that keep you in. Includes a beautiful bright sun room that alludes a ray of comfort and peacefulness. It balances an aura of work with delicate study nook and the down time feel in woven basket chairs. Depicting its details and transcending it into photo was encouraging.

From day to night.
Sailing around, snorkeling through, and swimming with nursing sharks in the Holchan Marine Reserve. A little later nightlife ramps up with Garifuna dancing and instruments showcasing the island’s cultural history.
